Meeting Place Portfolio Review

During the opening days of FotoTriennale.dk 2012 the popular, international Meeting Place will once again take place at Museet for Fotokunst.

As the name implies, Meeting Place is a forum for one-on-one meetings between photographic artists and their professional ‘users’ - museum curators, gallery owners, magazine editors and museum- and festival directors from around the world.

In the course of 3 intense days Meeting Place gives photographic artists a unique opportunity to present their work to international experts who can assist with advice on future career development or perhaps facilitate an exhibition or publication.

As in the 2009 Meeting Place, the portfolio reviewers will again in 2012 vote for the ‘best portfolio’. The winner will be offered a presentation in KATALOG, Journal of Photography & Video, as well as an exhibition at FotoTriennale.dk 2015.

“For me the Meeting Place was a fantastic platform, giving me the opportunity to introduce my work to both Danish and international curators and museum staff. On a concrete level I sold work to The National Museum of Photography’s Collection – and on a more abstract level I managed to spread a lot of ripples across the water – which subsequently created exhibition opportunities for me”.
Astrid Kruse Jensen, DK, 2003 Meeting Place Registrant

“At The Meeting Place I met Beate Cegielska, Head of Gallery Image in Aarhus. She has both exhibited my work and become a great collaborator and friend. Meeting Beate in this way, has made a great difference for my work. It is like a little butterfly effect”.
Mette Juul, 2006 Meeting Place Registrant
